Nick’s Kick Bike!!

As I said in this post,Nick had gotten his first bike in March. Sadly, the bike was too big for him and he wasn’t able to ride it. Since it was less than $5 we weren’t crushed by the loss of money but we were sad that Nick wasn’t able to ride the bike that he was so excited about. Because it was spring and it was nice outside, time went on and while we didn’t forget about his lack of bike,we got distracted by our own bikes and Nick was happy riding in his Burley. One day, though,we were at a sporting goods store and while A was looking at bike bags,I took the kids over to the kids’bike section and they had a couple balance bikes there. I was highly intrigued and stood one up to get a better look at it. Nick ran over, took it out of my hands, got on it and started scooting around the store! We didn’t love the price of it but loves the results,so we went home and tried to order one for him. The order got lost so I canceled it and today went back to the original store and got him his first ride-able kick bike (he got the white one with blue words and trim). He LOVED it and was eager to go to Megan’s new school to try it out on the walking path there. That was a win/win situation as Megan got to ride around the trail 4 times,Nick did a rotation and they both got to play on the fantastic playground there. We’re so excited!!! The kid is fearless. He biked, wobbled the handlebars as he was going (and laughed),took both hands off of the handlebars to cheer for the baseball players practicing and would point at things while only holding on with one hand. He’s going to give me many gray hairs watching him learn to ride a bike. I can’t wait!!! Here’s the video I took of him on my phone:
