Nick got his first bike tonight and he was so so so so excited! After dropping Megan off at church,he and I went to both Goodwill stores in town and left with a 12 inch Huffy bike. He was so excited and so proud and wanted to sit on it on the way out to the van. As it was,I was running a bit late AND both tires were flat (couldn’t complain there –the bike cost us $4.35!!!) so we held off on riding it and tossed it in the van and went back to pick up Megan. He held the handlebars the whole way home and insisted it come in the house when we got home. I brought it in,set it on the floor and tried to encourage the kids to get their jammies on (it was late,after all) and Nick insisted I take a picture. The excitement was catching and so I grabbed the camera and set Nick up next to his bike.
At first he looked a little scared to be holding it…
And then his arm slipped a little and the handlebars turned a bit. It surprised him!
Next thing I knew,he was grinning like a fool and said,“Momma! It turns!!!”I think he’s excited!
After he went to bed we turned it into a real kick bike. I can’t wait to see him on it!
