Despite my good feelings toward Nerf,we weren’t the least bit surprised when the cardboard backboard of Nick’s basketball hoop broke less than 3 weeks after he got it for Christmas from his sister. Of course, the sword that was hitting it didn’t help any (forgot to tell you that,Adam…Megan came clean yesterday and said that’s how it broke –thus securing the new one to the walls with 4 screws instead of 2).
The kids and I headed to Menards Tuesday to buy salt (yep, yet another ice storm is here) for the driveway and a thin piece of plywood to get this project going. I traced the shape of the old backboard onto the plywood and then cut it out with our jigsaw. Had Nick not been so eager to get his basketball hoop put back together again,I wa
s going to paint it all but instead I stuck it on the wall (with 4 screws to ensure the destruction was at a minimum) and he’s had a great time playing with it ever since! I’m quite certain that I’ve got some of Dad’s genes. I love working with tools!

You are a multi talented woman!! I love power tools too! I started making a dollhouse bookcase for Brenna until a calculation error (by my engineer dad I have to add) left us short some wood. Hopefully she gets it soon since now Adam and Brenna will be sharing a room!
You do and they are all the good ones! Great knitting BTW!
