OK so Megan's preschool has this great thing called Lunch Bunch. It meets for 90 mn after preschool once a week and during that time the kids learn to eat quickly despite being surrounded by peers (they start taking up nearly the full 90 minutes eating and by the end of hte year, they're down to 20 minutes so that they're ready for kindergarten - a fantastic thing!!!) and they also focus on a different subject. For 8 weeks they do math, 8 weeks of science, and then 8 weeks of reading. This just started last week and for the past two weeks they've talked about patterns. Patterns are something Megan absolutely loves and enjoys finding patterns while we're out and makes patterns with the legos.
When they started out, the teachers had them make a pattern with two colors. Easy peasy. Megan chose red and pink...Then, from what I understand, the teachers said that the kids had time to do one more pattern of their choosing. They didn't think of our daughter when they said that. Megan wasn't happy doing a 2 or 3-color pattern. She picked FIVE colors! Not only that but she is so precise that the person picking her up after school (she was going to a friend's house after school that day) had to wait HALF AN HOUR for Megan to finish up her pattern before they could leave. ay yi yi. I'm a very proud mommy that she did such a great job but I did feel badly that her friend and her friend's mom had to wait so long for her.
oh - the beginning got a bit ruined when her brother decided to pick a couple of the stickers to put on his shirt. oops! I didn't take the picture soon enough.
