...and the excitement continues

So we got up at the butt crack of dawn this morning so that we could meet with Dad's radiation doc. We got there at 7 and another doc came in and said that he might get to go home today and then 10 mn later said that she was very sorry but that there was a hrm... some word I can't think of right now... surgeon (special kind - can't think of that word) that wanted to see about putting a stent or two in his trachea to hold it open while they do radiation (which may swell the mass before it shrinks it because that's what happens and Dad only has a tiny slit in his airway right now so that would be catastrophic). If all goes well, he'll be breathing really well when it's over and that will be fantastic. If it doesn't go well... I'm trying not to think about that.

surgery should take roughly 2 hours but he has no time slot right now. It may turn out that he's not in the lineup until tomorrow. I hope not. pray for a room. pray for safety. pray for the surgeons. pray for Dad.
